Ticks are one of the more dangerous pests in Northwest Arkansas due to some of the diseases they carry. Ticks actually cause more human diseases in Arkansas than any other insect. The most common ticks found in Northwest Arkansas are american dog ticks, lone star ticks, and deer ticks.
Some of the diseases caused in humans from a tick bite are rocky mountain spotted fever from american dog ticks, heartland virus, alpha gal, bourbon virus, STARI (southern tick associated rash illness) from lone star ticks which are the more aggressive and identified usually with a white spot or a “lone star” on their backs.
What we can do to prevent ticks is full yard treatments. We can give a free in person or over the phone estimate of what that would cost. What you as the customer can do is cut your yard regularly and reduce clutter around the yard such as leaves, or debris.
We’ll first determine the severity of the infestation by inspecting the entire property. If you’re dealing with a tick problem, we’ll move forward with our tick treatment.
We’ll carefully apply liquid residual and insect growth regulators (IGR) on all entry points and areas your pets spend time. Not only does this approach kill ticks on contact, but it also interrupts the breeding cycle. Best of all, this method lasts for 4-6 months!
For the exterior, we’ll carefully apply a course liquid treatment to the areas your pet(s) frequent or wherever there is tick activity. We prefer to do this on a monthly basis in order to ensure that any ticks brought to your yard on other animals(mice, deer, etc) won’t last long.
We’re passionate about helping people just like you get rid of unwanted pest problems. As such, we are proud to be the only pest control company in Bentonville, AR promising excellence in value, service, and trust.
Tick infestations usually start with your cat or dog. These pests attach themselves to your pets when they’re outside, and then infest their fur and areas they sleep indoors. This means to control Ticks successfully, you need to treat the inside of your home and your yard! Luckily, IPM can help. If you’re dealing with a Tick infestation, or want to safeguard your home from these nasty pests, call 479-343-1297 today!
Ticks attach themselves sucking blood from your loved one. Hence the reason why your pets scratch so much after they’ve been bitten. And, in some cases, Tick bites cause allergic reactions in humans. But the real problem is Ticks carry insect-borne diseases just like mosquitoes and fleas. According to the CDC, the number of illnesses caused by flea bites tripled from 2004 to 2016. So if you’re dealing with a tick infestation, you need to act fast!
Ticks love warm-blooded animals, like your pets. They consume 15 times their body weight in blood, which can cause anemia and significant blood loss. So we recommend that you supplement your flea and tick preventative with 2-3 tick treatments during the warmer months in Location. This will create an additional line of defense from these blood-sucking pests.
